In this post, we examine my thoughts on 2012, review my 2011, and give information concerning the creation of a fur tutorial that is also a video.


2012
I hope everyone has had a safe and enjoyable holiday season so far.
Mine has been going well, though there have been some emotional moments since this is the first holiday season without my mum.
We've still had an enjoyable holiday.
I think the 2012 plz account is pretty funny>>>
Just an fyi, the Mayans would make 2012 a party to remember, since it was not just an end, but the birth of a new world.
The Mayans had a belief in a cyclical time flow so the end and the beginning were one in the same, just as the origins of January's name suggest.
January, named after the Roman god Janus, god of doors, so we exit the old year an enter the new year at January.


2011 review
It's probably been the most difficult year for me thus far.
Losing my mother in the spring certainly over-shadows much of my memories.
Experiencing the pain of planning a funeral for her, and seeing the impact that my mother had on so many people.
We went on the vacation that my mother carefully planned, feeling the emptiness of her missing presence.
Going to camp and working my tail off within a loving and understanding community that I consider family did much to heal my heart.
Learning that humans are weak and frail, yet so strong and compassionate.
Going back to college, having the best roommate that I ever had.
We could understand each other better than I could hope for, and she would tolerate when I just need to cry.
I learned that I was better suited to go to an art school than a liberal arts school, but also learning that I truly am in a terrible position in this economy.
Trying to figure out if art apprenticeships still exist in modern times.
Had a good Christmas, and playing around with new art supplies.
Had a conversation with a Copic instructor/representative, learning all kinds of stuff about the markers and business.
And now, I'm here in 2012.


Fur tutorial
Finally, after being asked numerous times, I am working on a fur tutorial.
I figured that it would be easier to show how I do fur, so I am working on a video that will demonstrate different stages of my progress.
It's taking a while to put together since my video editing program is buggy and keeps closing instead of doing what I want it to do.
I'll just have to work around that issue and move on with the voice-over.
Expect the much demanded tutorial soon.
