Should I sell prints?

Sat Oct 24, 2009, 9:40 AM
This is a serious question, and I think it's about time I get some answers. A simple "Yes" or "No" as a comment would suffice. What I would really like to know is which of my works you would like to see available as prints, it would be much appreciated.

On another note, since All-hollows Eve is coming up, and the movie industry makes billions on horror films at this time, I'd like to give you an interesting fact about myself: I should not go into movie theatres to see "horror" films, though most of the time I refuse to even let those things take up my time.
Why? I'm sorry to say it, but "horror" films don't scare me and I end up laughing throughout the entire movie. It's not that I am desensitized or crazy (in a bad way), I just find the "horror" of today ludicrous and absurd.

-Blood and gore, I've watched surgeries for biology classes and I've dissected a pig, whoop-dee-do... And the reaction of "fear" is instinct saying, "You know, organs work best INSIDE the body." O.o;
-Torture, sorry, but that is just something that is scarier in real life with witch trials in the past and water-boarding in the present, like it or not, torture is a part of human history that we as a race, sadly, have not learned from yet and continue to use to this day... :(
-Things jumping out of the dark, oh yeah, scary, just like the jaguar that jumped out of the dark to eat our ancestors, it's just instinct, very logical...
-Gross-out, Dirty Jobs on Discovery, anyone? XD
-Psychological Thriller... Wait! You mean our audience has brains?! Sorry, but horrible films today don't do justice to the term "psychological." The films are geared towards the ignorant masses, emphasis on "ignorant." I'm not saying that all you horror buffs are stupid, but once you reach a certain level of intelligence, what the majority classifies as "scary" seems more silly than frightening. :o

Now, you are probably thinking, "Does nothing scare her?" The answer, there are things that scare me, and writers that give me nightmares for 2 weeks straight. Edgar Allen Poe is one of them. His work is usually tossed aside, but it is scary stuff. The story "Devil in the Belfry" seems innocent on the surface, but the horror lies in the underlying message, "This is our society, our world, and one person can throw it all into chaos." Even scarier is H. P. Lovecraft. The man was crazy and committed suicide in his 30s. His stories make death and torture seem like a dream, his stories go after things that make most horror writers look like they were writers for the Disney princesses. Lovecraft's stories go after your mind and even your soul. I read one of his stories, and had nightmares for 2 weeks straight. If you are not frightened by his work, there is a simple explanation; you are lacking a brain and a soul, so you have nothing to lose! *gets attacked* @_@

Reading these sorts of stories then watching the horror films of today, I compare it to experiencing the nuclear bomb (Lovecraft) and then experiencing a small fireworks show, a lot of bells and whistles, but really no substance.

And this is the reason that if I went to see the newest "Saw" movie, I would probably die, not from a heart-attack, but from laughter. :D
